Staffords are a leading national third party service provider. Operating from our head office in Knowsley and two regional service centres Staffords cover mainland UK and some of the offshore islands. After jettisoning the sales arm several years ago, Staffords have concentrated on repair, and refurbishment activities.

The move away from sales gave Staffords the necessary profile required to approach distributors, manufacturers and dealers and offer warranty and after warranty support, avoiding potential conflict of interest issues. Through a combination of nation-wide on site engineering services, specialist repair centres and a technical helpline facility, Staffords offer a complete support solution to meet any local or national service requirement.

The success of Staffords service focused strategy can be measured by the fact that we currently provide after sales support for several leading OEMs and Distributors on fax machines, multifunctional products, printers, scanners, digital photocopiers, interactive boards, audio visual equipment , televisions,  shredders, laminators, dect phones, set top boxes and banking equipment.

Offering flexible service support packages, including installation and training, technical helpline facilities and bespoke management reports Staffords are equipped to deliver a tailored service to meet all requirements. A development of Staffords support operations has been its growing Managed Equipment Services. Staffords were tasked by a leading high street bank to rationalise a maze of service contracts incorporating widely differing service level agreements and products. Staffords were required to prepare tender documentation, vet the service providers (of which they were one) and monitor all service calls in addition to providing post tender analysis.

As a result of these activities Staffords were able to reduce the number of service contractors from 33 to just 5 and achieve a very significant saving for the client in terms of service and maintenance expenditure. A second high street bank is now in the process of adopting a similar strategy using Staffords tried and tested formula.

Emerging from the Managed Equipment Service has been a significant increase in the Company`s refurbishment operations. Staffords now cover the refurbishment and recycling of several IT products for redeployment and re-use across several thousand bank branches offering the client a very cost effective alternative to replacing old equipment with new.

The recycling of telephones, fax, printers, scanners, multi-functional equipment and photocopiers is now one of Staffords primary service activities and with introduction of the forthcoming European Directives targeted at recycling issues it will be a growth element of the business for the foreseeable future.

Achieving BSI accreditation in 1992 (now ISO 9001:2000) has played a significant part in the transition and ongoing development of the company, from a broad based sales and service dealer into the national service support company which is Staffords today.

The recycling operation and indeed every facet of Staffords service operations receive on going health checks in the form of monthly customer surveys, internal and external assessments and personnel training evaluation. Team briefings at all levels are held regularly to ensure that everyone in the Company has a full understanding of the company strategy and exacting quality and performance targets.
